‘Solar energy now provides for 24 per cent of TU’s power needs’
GUWAHATI: In a bid to generate clean energy for power requirements within the campus, the Tezpur University (TU) has installed a solar grid which effectively replaced 24 per cent of the monthly electricity consumption of the central varsity during October 2018 to July 2020.
A TU spokesperson said that the university considers five thematic areas — energy, water, waste, natural ecosystems and sustainable building — for its mission towards a sustainable campus.
